As a young man in a small town in Kerala, late Mr R.Sivaswamy developed a fascination with the sea and vowed that one day he would have ship of his own. The sea both lured and challenged him. In 1977, Mr R.Sivaswamy founded the Transworld Group and navigated it through its formative years, establishing it as a reputed shipping company in India and the Gulf.

In 1989, S. Ramakrishnan took over the company as the chairman of the group, building on the strong base laid by his father. Under his dynamic leadership and ably supported by his brother and vice chairman of the group S. Mahesh, the TRANSWORLD GROUP expanded its business.
